Coverage

Safe pinning, garment-specific techniques, and customer communication.

Measurement philosophy

Always record the final objective measurement (e.g., waist = 36"), not +/– changes.

Who participates

Outcome

Communication & documentation

Exact garment description, target measurement, and customer confirmation.

Escalation clarity

Define which garments CSRs can pin and which must be referred to tailors.

2. Curriculum Modules

Each module pairs short instruction with visuals, downloads, and a quick quiz.

📘 Module 1: Customer Instruction & Measurement Philosophy

  • Capture customer requests word for word.
  • Never use +/– shorthand — always document final measurement (e.g., inseam = 30").
  • Why exact measurements protect staff and keep jobs measurable.

🧷 Module 2: Pinning Tools & Safety

  • Safety pins preferred for all fittings.
  • Basic pinning safety, comfort checks, and handling.
  • Secure, perpendicular placement without distorting the garment.

👖 Module 3: Pinning by Garment Type

  • Pants, skirts, dresses, jackets, and shirts.
  • Emphasis on accurate, symmetrical pinning.
  • Always follow with final tape measurement and written value.

📝 Module 4: Forms & Communication

  • Record garment description and exact target measurement.
  • Use statements like “Waist to be 36"” instead of “take in waist.”
  • Confirm instructions with the customer and note special requests.

🚩 Module 5: Exceptions & Escalation

  • CSR-approved garments: standard pants, skirts, casual shirts.
  • Refer complex, delicate, or structured garments (formalwear, coats, intricate dresses) to tailors.
